Ang Dolma Sherpa

Raised in Namche, trained in Kathmandu and Chiang Mai. Ang Dolma opened Trinetra in 2014 after a decade of apprenticeship under Thai and Japanese masters. Her work treats the spine, ribs and shoulder blades as a mountain range to be surveyed before a single line is laid.

A Patan-born painter who moved from thangka workshops into tattooing. Bkay carries Newari temple ornament and Mithila wall-painting into skin, working almost entirely freehand with a brush-pen before the needle.
